Maria Sessa is a staff neurologist at San Raffaele Research Institute in Milan. She has a sound experience in heredodegenerative disorders. In particular she has devoted her last years to the implementation of a clinical protocol for ex vivo gene therapy in Hematopoietic Stem Cells for the treatment of Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. In that perspective she coordinated a clinical study on a large cohort of MLD patients in order to improve knowledge about the natural history of the disease.
